You do not need to create a perfect setting before exploring meditation. For a first experience, consider a brief pause somewhere you feel comfortable. You can leave your eyes open and let your breathing stay natural.
Meditation includes different practices. Some use a sound, sensation or other focus of attention; mindfulness emphasises awareness of the present without judgment. These are broad descriptions, not a promise that every practice will suit every person. NCCIH: Meditation and Mindfulness
One optional approach is to notice a quiet sound around you or the contact of your feet with the floor. If attention wanders, return gently. You are not being graded on how still your mind becomes. End the practice whenever you wish. NHS: Mindfulness
Afterward, ask a simple question: did I feel comfortable doing this? You can choose to try again, change the approach or leave it for another day. A longer session is not a requirement for beginning.
Some people experience discomfort with meditation. Stop if a practice increases distress, and discuss concerns with an appropriate health professional. Meditation should not replace or delay care for a medical or mental health problem. NCCIH safety guidance
Wellness with Dr Anuradha also includes the option of exploring chakra-focused meditation as a traditional or spiritual practice. Participation is a personal choice. We do not present chakra practices as a treatment for a diagnosed illness.
